Claudia Krizay is a 67 year old poet and artist diagnosed with schizophrenia at age 14. She was born in Washington DC and then lived abroad in her early childhood as her father was in the foreign service. She has always enjoyed creating artwork and as an adolescent she started to use artwork as an expression of her inner self and later in life used art and poetry as a means of coping with her illness in a positive way. She has self-published 8 books of poetry and artwork in the past 20 years. Claudia now resides in Silver Spring Maryland where she lives alone in her condominium.
