Welcome to Volume 8 Issue 1, which means this is the 8th year Turtle Way has been published (over the course of 11 years.) The premiere issue was published in 2012 but there were periods of time where we didn’t publish at all in a calendar year, explaining the discrepancy. Still, we have to keep it going, however falteringly, because wonderful writers and artists and photographers keep submitting their works for consideration!
For those of you who have been here before, you will notice a change in the website theme, although the layout is similar. The most significant change going forward is that the archives are no longer readily accessible. Starting with the previous issue published in June 2022, I will keep all previous issues active on the main page following the current issue. For those who were published before June of 2022, I can give you the permanent link to your work per your request. This new system will save me a lot of time and stress which will hopefully result in more frequent publications. Thank you for your understanding with this matter.
Now to some routine housekeeping tasks before we dive into this issue’s contributions.
WARNING: Please read the “trigger” disclaimer here.
COMMENTS: All comments will be moderated to protect the contributors, who have put forth their most sensitive and revealing works for us to read, view, and enjoy. As always, you may send your comments and questions either directly to the author via their contact information or to me at writeintothelight@live.com. Your comments may be included in future issues’ “Letters to the Editor” section unless you specify otherwise.
SUBMISSIONS: If you would like your work to be considered for upcoming issues, please review our submission guidelines here.
Finally, please be aware that any artwork or photographs accompanying written works are public domain or published under a Creative Commons license unless otherwise specified. I add these to make the site more visually appealing and will credit the source when possible.
Without you, there is no we, and only we can get through life together. I hope you enjoy this issue. Your feedback is welcomed.
